      Abstract

Palm oil makes a significant contribution to the Indonesian economy, however the productivity of palm oil plantations in Indonesia is still relatively low. One way to increase the productivity of oil palm plantations is by replanting, namely by replacing old plants that are no longer productive with new seeds that are superior and of better quality. Kotawaringin Timur regency area has carried out replanting of old plants but determining the optimum age is not based on economic calculations. The aim of this research is to analyze the optimum age of replanting and the influence of changes in economic aspects on the optimum age of replanting. This research was carried out on Kotawaringin Timur regency, Central Kalimantan in June – July 2023, using secondary data available at field complemented by direct interviews with several relevant. The optimum age for replanting is determined using the optimum point determination method according to Faris (1960). Based on financial analysis to determine optimum replanting, the optimum age for oil palm replanting occurs at the age of 23 years. The optimum replanting age is very sensitive to changes in FFB prices.
