      Abstract

This research aims was to examine the effects of different pruning intensities on the morphological characteristics, production, and quality of I. zollingeriana in the second harvest period. The study research design was a randomized block design with 4 treatments and 4 replicatens. The treatments consisted of P0: no pruning with plant height ranging from 100-120 cm, P1, P2, and P3 representing pruning intensities of 20 cm, 40 cm, and 60 cm from the stem base, respectively. Parameters included plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, shoots, and leaves. Production parameters were leaf and stem proportions, fresh, dry biomass, and the quality using Near-infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) method. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, and significantly different treatments were further tested with Duncan's Test using SPSS version 25. Research results showed that pruning at an intensity of up to 60 cm provides the best outcomes for plant morphology, production and nutrient quality.
