Kadar Serum Darah Ayam Petelur yang Diberi Air Rebusan Daun Sirih
Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of utilization Piper betle Linn leaves boiled water addition on lipid metabolism in serum of laying hen. The research used thirty laying hens (19 weeks of age). Completely randomized design used in this experiment with 5 treatments and 3 replications, each replication consist of 2 animals. The treatments : P1 (basal diet), P1 + 5 ml Piper betle Linn. leaves boiled water, P1 + 7.5 ml Piper betle Linn. leaves boiled water, P1 + 10 ml Piper betle Linn. leaves boiled water and P1 + 12.5 ml Piper betle Linn. leaves boiled water. The diet contain 17% crude protein and 2915 kcal/kg metabolizable energy. The variables observed were triglyceride, cholesterol, HDL and LDL serum of laying hen. The data obtained were analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA). The result showed that the treatment diets had significant effects on cholesterol, triglycerides and HDL of blood serum but not significant on LDL and total cholesterol concentrations of yolk.
