dc.description.abstractMany programs intended for the development of rural sanitation and urban sanitation facilities but many facilities that were built is not used and maintained by the community. Such conditions can be controlled through an integrated intervention through total sanitation approach. Sukabumi District Health Office has tried to apply the STBM (Sanitasi Total Berbasis Masyarakat) approach and developed into a program of Total Sanitation Movement Sa-Sukabumi (Gesit Sabumi). The purposes of this research are to evaluate strategies and methods of the Gesit Saburni socialization, evaluate the implementation of program as a community development program and to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. The effectiveness of the program is viewed from achieving the program objectives (output) that the community can change knowledge, attitudes and behavior in tenns of stopping open defecation and the safe handling of waste. Overall program output is reached; the community already has a high level of knowledge, positive attitude and positive action in stopping open defecation and the handling of waste.id
