Suplementasi Infusa Daun Pepaya Jepang (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) terhadap Produktivitas dan Kualitas Telur pada Puyuh Umur 17-20 Minggu
Abstract
Pepaya jepang (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) merupakan tanaman yang memiliki daun mirip daun pepaya namun dengan warna daun hijau tua, tanaman ini mengandung senyawa fitokimia yang dapat berfungsi sebagai antibakteri, antioksidan, dan antiimflamsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengevaluasi suplementasi infusa daun pepaya jepang terhadap produtivitas dan kualitas telur puyuh jepang petelur (Coturnix coturnix japonica) umur 17-20 minggu. Infusa daun pepaya jepang diberikan melalui air minum dan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produksi dan kualitas telur puyuh. Peubah yang diamati terdiri atas produktivitas puyuh petelur (konsumsi air minum, konsumsi pakan, bobot telur, Quail Day Production, massa telur, konversi pakan, mortalitas), kualitas telur (bobot dan persentase kuning telur, putih telur, dan kerabang telur, indeks telur, indeks kuning telur, indeks putih telur, tebal kerabang, warna kuning telur, dan haugh unit), organ dalam dan imunitas, organ reproduksi, serta kandungan Malondialdehid (MDA) dalam kuning telur. Penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan Uji T dengan 2 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan: P0 = kontrol dan P1 = pemberian infusa daun pepaya jepang dengan konsentrasi 10%. Hasil menunjukan suplementasi infusa daun pepaya jepang berpengaruh signifikan (p<0,05) terhadap peningkatan produktivitas yaitu quail day production, massa telur, konversi pakan dan tidak berpengaruh signifikan (p>0,05) terhadap konsumsi air minum, konsumsi pakan, bobot telur, dan mortalitas. Suplementasi infusa daun pepaya jepang berpengaruh signifikan (p<0,05) terhadap peningkatan indeks putih, warna kuning telur, dan tidak berpengaruh signifikan (p>0,05) terhadap bobot dan persentase kuning telur, putih telur, dan kerabang telur, indek telur dan indeks kuning telur, tebal kerabang telur, serta haugh unit. Selain itu, suplementasi infusa daun pepaya jepang tidak berpengaruh signifikan (p>0,05) terhadap bobot dan persentase organ dalam (hati, jantung, proventrikulus, dan ventrikulus) dan organ imunitas (limpa dan kelenjar timus). daun pepaya jepang berpengaruh signifikan (p<0,05) terhadap persentase ifundibulum dan panjang isthmus namun tidak berpengaruh signifikan (p>0,05) terhadap bobot dan panjang infundibulum; bobot, persentase, dan panjang magnum; bobot dan persentase isthmus; bobot, persentase, dan panjang uterus; serta bobot, persentase, dan panjang vagina. berpengaruh signifikan (p<0,05) terhadap penurunan kandungan MDA kuning telur. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan infusa daun pepaya jepang 10% dalam air minum dengan pemberian dua kali seminggu dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas telur puyuh jepang petelur umur 17-20 minggu sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan selama pemeliharaan. Chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) is a plant that has leaves similar to papaya leaves but with dark green leaf color. This plant contains phytochemical compounds that can function as antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. This study aimed to evaluate supplementation of chaya leaf infusion on the productivity and egg quality of quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) 17-20 weeks old. Chaya leaf infusion was given through drinking water and is expected to increase the production and quality of quail eggs. The variables observed consisted of productivity (water intake, feed intake, egg weight, quail day production, egg mass, feed conversion ratio, mortality), egg quality (yolk, albumen, eggshell weight and percentage, egg index, yolk index, albumen index, shell thickness, yolk color, and haugh units), internal and immunity organs, reproductive organs, and Malondialdehid (MDA) content in yolk. This study was analyzed using the T test with 2 treatments and 4 replications: P0 = control and P1 = chaya leaf infusion with a concentration of 10%.
The results showed that chaya leaf infusion had a significant effect (p<0.05) on increasing productivity namely quail day production, egg mass, feed conversion ratio, and had no significant effect (p>0.05) on water intake, feed intake, egg weight, and mortality. Supplementation of chaya leaf infusion had a significant effect (p<0.05) increasing egg quality namely albumen index and yolk color, then no significant effect (p>0.05) on weight and percentage of yolk, albumen, and eggshell, eggshell thickness, and haugh units. In addition, supplementation of chaya leaf infusion had no significant effect (p>0.05) on the weight and percentage of internal organs (liver, heart, proventriculus, ventriculus) and immune organs (spleen and thymus glands). Then in the reproductive organs, supplementation of chaya leaf infusion had a significant effect (p<0.05) on increasing the infundibulum percentage and isthmus length, but had no had no significant effect (p>0.05) on weight and length of infundibulum; weight, percentage, and length of magnum; weight and percentage of isthmus; weight, percentage, and length of uterine; and weight, percentage, and length of vagina. Supplementation chaya leaf infusion had a significant effect (p<0.05) on reducing the MDA content of yolk. Supplementation chaya leaf infusion twice a week with a concentration of 10% in drinking water can increase the productivity and egg quality of quail 17-20 weeks old so as to increase revenue during maintenance.
