Pengembangan Prototype Sistem Informasi Penjaminan Mutu Internal Universitas Syiah Kuala

Abstract

Higher Education has the main responsibility in organizing a quality and reliable education system, efforts so that the quality of good education can continue to be maintained inseparable from the implementation of the Higher Education Quality Assurance System (SPMPT). The process of implementing the quality of higher education must be carried out in a planned, autonomous, and sustainable manner, therefore, a quality assurance system is needed so that these activities run systemically as stated in Permenristekdikti No. 62 of 2016 concerning SPM Dikti, which emphasizes that higher education must run the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI). Information system tools in running SPMI have also been formed by Syiah Kuala University (USK). There are 22 information systems that USK has built. The number of information systems in USK today does not necessarily facilitate the quality assurance process, this is because one system and another have not been connected, so that each system is still running. This condition makes the distribution of data very difficult to monitor and the audits carried out become unsystematic. Therefore, USK currently urgently needs a quality assurance information system that is integrated with all existing systems. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, this method was chosen because the purpose of the research was to obtain an overview of data needs in accordance with the USK quality assurance system. The research focuses on the process of collecting in-depth data to formulate the concept of the needs of designing a Quality Assurance Information System at USK. The type of data used in this study is primary data from interviews with users / stakeholders who have the capacity and authority as well as decision makers and policy makers at USK in accordance with their respective capacities and responsibilities. In addition, data are obtained through observation and collection of examples of existing documents.
