This study aims to evaluate the addition of Ca-soap protected vegetable oils in vitro. This study used a 3×4 factorial Randomized Group Design with 3 groups as replications. The factors tested were the type of oil (M): M1 (corn oil), M2 (sunflower seed oil), M3 (sesame oil), and the level of use (T): T0 (0%), T1 (1%), T2 (2%), T3 (3%). Parameters tested included pH, protozoa population, total bacterial population, NH3 concentration, total VFA concentration, DMD and OMD. Data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and significantly different treatments would be further tested with the Tukey test. The results showed that there was no interaction between the type of oil and the level of use on all parameters tested. The type of oil and the level of use had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the values of pH, DMD, and OMD. The level of use had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the protozoa population, total bacterial population, NH3 concentration, and total VFA concentration. The conclusion of this research is the addition of Ca-soap protected vegetable oil up to 3% level does not interfere with fermentation activity and digestibility in the rumen so that it can be used in dairy cattle rations.id
