      Abstract

The Self Declare halal certification is a certification scheme designed with the aim of facilitating Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in obtaining halal certification. In fact, the number of self-declared halal certifications in Indonesia is still relatively low compared to the other type of halal certification and significantly lower compared to the total number of MSEs in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to self-declared halal certification and to formulate a strategy to maximize the potential. The analysis method used in this study is the Analytical Network Process (ANP) with a Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) approach. The study found that weaknesses should be the primary focus when developing strategies to increase self declared halal certification, while the most critical strength is the existence of mandatory regulations for halal certification. The most significant weakness is the uneven distribution of information, and the most significant opportunity is the large number of MSEs in Indonesia. The most significant threat is the uneven level of community understanding and literacy. The most effective strategy to increase self declared halal certification is optimizing the BPJPH online system.
