      Produksi Ikan Hias Rainbow Boesemani (Melanotaenia boesemani) Balon melalui Kombinasi Persilangan Secara Terarah

      Abstract
      Fenotipe balon menjadikan variasi bentuk tubuh yang unik pada ikan rainbow boesemani sehingga memiliki nilai jual yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguraikan pola pewarisan fenotipe balon dan mengevaluasi pengaruh kombinasi persilangan terhadap produksi ikan rainbow boesemani balon. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan persilangan antara boesemani balon betina dengan boesemani normal jantan (BN), resiprokalnya (NB), dan sesama boesemani balon (BB) masing-masing tiga pasang induk setiap persilangannya. Performa produksi setiap persilangan tidak jauh berbeda pada parameter derajat pembuahan telur, derajat penetasan telur, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup, namun terdapat perbedaan pada fekunditas persilangan NB yang lebih tinggi (358±151,80) jika dibandingkan dengan persilangan BB (150,67±5,51) dan BN (151,67±61,44). Keturunan berfenotipe balon hanya ditemukan pada keturunan persilangan BB karena memiliki tubuh yang tampak lebih membulat jika dibandingkan dengan keturunan persilangan lainnya. Keturunan berfenotipe balon terbaik dihasilkan dari persilangan sesama boesemani balon.
       
      The balloon phenotype makes the boesemani rainbowfish unique, so it has a higher selling value. This study aimed to describe the pattern of inheritance of balloon phenotypes and evaluate the effect of crossing combinations on the production of boesemani balloons. The research was conducted using a combination method of crosses with three pairs of broodstock between female boesemani balloons with normal male boesemani (BN), reciprocal (NB), and fellow boesemani balloons (BB) in each crosses. The production performance of each cross did not show any difference in egg fertilization rate, egg hatching rate, and survival rate but there was a difference in the fecundity of the NB cross which was higher (358±151.80) compared to the BB (150.67±5.51) and BN crosses (151.67±61.44). The offspring with balloon phenotype was only found in the offspring of BB crosses because they appeared to have a more rounded body when compared to other offspring crosses. The offspring with the best balloon phenotype are produced from crosses between fellow balloons.
