      Abstract

One of the key elements of success in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia is to build cooperation. Cooperation between community members is a form of social cohesion. Community resilience results from social cohesion that encourages joint action among residents to reduce the impact of disasters. This study aims to analyze the relationship of social cohesion and collective action in urban poor communities during the COVID-19 pandemic using a quantitative approach through questionnaires and supported by qualitative data using in-depth interviews. The location of this research is an RW in West Bogor District, Bogor City which involves 60 respondents through the proportional simple random sampling method. The results show that although poor communities have moderate social cohesion, they are able to have high collective action during the COVID-19 pandemic, although lower than collective action before the pandemic. Social cohesion and collective action of urban poor communities have a weak relationship. Leadership is one of the factors that play a role in the high collective action of the urban poor community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
