dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pemanfaatan limbah cair sari kurma (LCSK) sebagai pengganti molasses dalam pembuatan pakan domba. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 5 x 4 dengan perlakuan P1 = pakan menggunakan molasses 100%, P2 = substitusi molasses dengan LCSK 25%, P3 = substitusi molasses dengan LCSK 50%, P4 = substitusi molasses dengan LCSK 75%, P5 = substitusi molasses dengan LCSK 100%. Peubah yang diamati meliputi kualitas fisik dan kimia LCSK dan molasses, kualitas fisik ransum mash mengandung LCSK dan molasses, dan pola tingkah laku dan waktu makan domba. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil berbeda nyata (P<0.05) pada uji kualitas fisik ransum mash mengandung LCSK dan molasses meliputi kerapatan tumpukan (KT), kerapatan pemadatan tumpukan (KPT), ukuran partikel (UP), sudut tumpukan (ST), serta tingkah laku makan domba dalam kegiatan mulai makan, namun, tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05) terhadap nilai berat jenis (BJ), tingkah laku makan domba dalam kegiatan mencium, menjilat, jumlah pakan yang dikonsumsi, dan pakan yang tersisa. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan 100% LCSK pada P5 sebagai bahan pengganti molasses dalam ransum domba dapat meningkatkan daya terima domba terhadap ransum yang diberikan. dc.description.abstractThe study aims to examine the use of dates liquid waste (DLW) as a substitute for molasses in the manufacture of sheep feed. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) 5 x 4 with treatment P1 = feed using 100% molasses, P2 = substitution of molasses with 25% of DLW, P3 = substitution of molasses with 50% of DLW, P4 = substitution of molasses with 75% of DLW, P5 = substitution of molasses with 100% of DLW. Variables observed were included the physical and chemical quality of DLW and molasses, the physical quality of mash ration containing DLW and molasses, and dietary habit and meal time of sheep. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and continued with Duncan’s test. The results were significantly different (P<0.05) on the physical quality test of mash ration containing DLW and molasses including bulk density (KT), compact bulk density (KPT), particle size (UP), angle of repose (ST), and dietary habit of sheep in the activity of starting to eat, however, it had no significantly effect (P>0.05) on the value of specific gravity (BJ), dietary habit of sheep in the activities of smelling, licking, feed consumption, and the leftover feed. In conclusion, the used of 100% DLW in P5 as a substitute for molasses in sheep ration can increase the sheep’s acceptance of the experimental ration.
