dc.description.abstractTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang bahan pengisi kemasan transportasi tomat dari bahan yang mudah diperoleh, menguji pengaruhnya terhadap mutu buah tomat, terutama jumlah kerusakan mekanis, kekerasan, total padatan terlarut, susut bobot dan warna buah tomat pada setiap perlakuan simulasi transportasi, dan mengevaluasi bahan pengisi yang paling optimum selama transportasi tomat. Kemasan yang digunakan adalah kardus bertipe double wall berdimensi 40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm. Ada tiga perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yang terdiri dari dua perlakuan dengan bahan pengisi dan satu perlakuan untuk control (tanpa bahan pengisi). Kedua perlakuan adalah: pengisi kertas koran, dan daun pisang kering dan kedua bahan pengisi dibentuk kerucut. Semua perlakuan dilakukan simulasi transportasi (frekuensi 3,9 Hz, amplitudo 4,2 cm, selama 90 menit). Perlakuan tersebut setara dengan transportasi sejauh 107,38 km. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tomat beef yang dikemas dengan bahan pengisi kertas koran yang dibentuk kerucut memiliki kerusakan mekanis terendah sebesar 28,94%, sehingga bahan pengisi tersebut merupakan bahan pengisi terbaik untuk transportasi buah tomat beef dalam kemasan karton.id
dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research were to designing tomato transport packaging filler from easily available materials, to test the effect on the quality of tomato fruit, especially the amount of mechanical damage, hardness, total dissolved solids, weight loss and fruit color of tomatoes in each transportation simulation treatment, and to evaluating the most optimum filler during tomato transport. The packaging used is double wall cardboard with dimensions of 40 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm. There were three packages used in this study which consist of two packages for treatment and one package for control. The two treatment packages were package with: newsprint paper filler and banana leaves filler and the two materials are formed in a cone. All of the packaged were simulated on the road (frequency 3,9 Hz, amplitude 4,2 cm for vertical vibration, during 90 minutes). The treatment is equivalent to transportation as far as 107,38 km. It can be concluded that beef tomatoes fruit packaged by wrapping paper filler cone-shaped only has a lowest mechanical damage amounted to 28,94%, so this package method should be a good filler material of package for the distribution transportation of beef tomatoes fruit in carton.id
