      Abstract
      It had been reported previously that industrial workers in Bogor area coneumed &reef foods regulwly and this food habit correlcrted with high plaema MDA, lower immune eyetem and plasma vitamin C and vitamin E. Darnaged of the immune syoiem by free radials could be prevented by supplementation of vegetable and fruit that codain antiodani nutrients such w vitamin C and vitamin E. The subjects of this etudy were industrial lubors from industries located in Bogor. They were divided into four groups, iduatry I (n=l6), industry LI(n=20), industry III(n=24), induetly N(n=20). Subjects weregiven local fruits and vegetables that met V i m i n C and E daily requiremente, every&y each -n for 30 &ys. The effects of vegetables and fruit containing vitamin C &n vitamin E supplementation on the immune response, were memured by analyzing their white blood cell count, lympirocyte prolifemtion mpom and natural killer ( N . cell cytotoxie activity. Simulation index (SI) of the cell proliferation cultured with pokeweed mitogen inacased from 4.63 to 5.31, while that with concMaualin A(Con A) increased from 5.48 to 14.06 in male subjects. The total auerege fCK lyeing activity increased from 33.10.h to 39.55% when the cells were cultured with target cancer cell line K562. The reeults of this research show thd supplementation of vitamin C and vitamin E from vegetables and fruits enhanced the lymphocyte prolifenation and natwal kiUer cellcytotoxicactivity.
