This situation couse the unbalanced situation in the point of view of infrastructure development and economic activities. Regarding that natural ressources can play on important role for economic dimension, the policy should change to forest sustainable development. This research is aimed to develop a model of managing sustainable for forestry in West kalimantan border area. Identification of the sustainability factors of five dimensions should be identified and analiyzed using Rap-INSUSFORMA. Based on the result of Rap - INSUSFORMA and stakeholders assessment analysis, the model is developed using prospective analysis. The multidimensional index value based on 44 factors at present condition is 36,85 (range 0 – 100), categorized as less sustainable, which partially, economic, dimention has the highest value (53,17) and technology dimension is the lowest (23,17). Model of managing sustainable for forestry has 5 driving factors such as : (1) Utilization of non-wood ressources (2) ”Ladang berpindah” activities, (3) mitigation technology for forest fire, (4) Conservation of flora and fauna, (5) Regulation of forest area. Simulation of future scenarios (optimist, moderat and pesimist) resulting the variation of index values of 22,90 from the present time to ideal phase. The priority of operating scenario will be the pesimistic, moderate, and optimistic to achive the ideal ones for the time frame of 20 years. The government should increase the utilization and exploration of non – wood ressources and the same time implementing the regulation consistently. The steps of conceptual and operational model area : stakeholders identification and assessment, deriving entry points, scenarios development and model simulation for achieving the strategic obyective.
