This study are aimed to measure the value of net primary productivity of
phytoplankton and analyze the relation net primer productivity phytoplankton
with light intensity and nutrient availability at Madura strait water Bangkalan
district. This research use discriptive methodology of ex post facto and dark-light
bottle method. Value of net primary productivity phytoplankton in three measure
are 5,563 35,11 mgCm²³5h¹, 9,126,976 mgCm²³5h¹ and 6.596 61.758
mgCm³5h¹ in station A, B and C respectively, which was measured on March-
April 2007. The result of estimation shows that light intensity is significant with R²
are 0,8740 (87,40%), 0,8789 (87,89%), 0,9160 (91,60%) at station A, B and C
respectively. Light intensity optimum value are 15 802 Lux (308,5 µmol photon m
2s); 17 470 Lux (341,2 µmol photon m²s¹); 19 164 – 19 676 Lux (374,3 - 384,3

µmol photon m²s) with net primary productivity are 7,78 mgC m³h¹; 7,87 mgC
-3
m³h and 9,93 mgC m³h m³h at station A, B and C respectively. Beside that the
effect of nutrient net primary productivity of phytoplankton is relatively low. | id |
