dc.description.abstract | The satisfaction of the soybean farmers in agriculture extension activity is an emotional situation, that is when their needs are met through agricultural extension activities. The objectives of the study were: (1) to describe the soybean farmers’ characteristics, (2) to identify the satisfaction of soybean farmers through agricultural extension activities, and (3) to analyze relationship between the soybean farmers’ characteristics and their satisfaction in agriculture extension activities. The research applied descriptive correlation and population covered with soybean farmers in Lahat regency. The number of the respondents are 66 soybean farmers in Lahat regency were took with proportional random sampling. The data were collected on May to June 2007. The data were analyzed using Konkordansi Kendall W test. The results of this research were: mostly soybean farmers had old age, low education formal or achieved only at elementary school, moderat experience in farming, medium land property,less interaction with agricultural extension educator, high consumption of media, low access in credit fund, moderate in training activities and high cosmopolitanism. The soybean farmers satisfy in agriculture extension activities with regard to: (1) agricultural informations, (2) training, (3) develop and improve farmer institution, (4) application of extension methods. Meanwhile less in: (1) guiding on farming, (2) application of a technology, (3) planning of agricultural extension education, (4) sufficiency of production means, technology and marketing. There was high significant correlation between farmer characteristics and their satisfaction in agricultural extension activities. | id |
