dc.description.abstractBig Eye Tuna (Thunnus obesus) is one of large pelagic fish in Indian Ocean which composition about 23% from total fish catch was landed on PPS Cilacap. PPS Cilacap is laid on the south coast of Java, which deal directly with the Indian Ocean. The aim of this research is to find out the condition of Big Eye Tuna (Thunnus obesus) resources and give recomendation for proper and sustainable to its management. The research was conducted from Desember 2014 until March 2015 in PPS Cilacap. The analysis indicated that the Big Eye Tuna fishing has been overexploited both biological and economical point of view. Management effort that could be recommended to its management is fishing effort limitation, regulation of fishing season and fishing area, performing incetives system, and development cooperation among the stakeholder.id
