This study aimed to determine the optimal stocking density on fish nursery ctenopoma at size of 2 cm and 30% water changes every day. The treatment in the study was 4 levels of fish stocking densities, ie 2, 4, 6 and 8 fish/liter and quality of the culture media was maintained by replacing the water as much as 30%. Fish reared in 12 aquariums filled with 10.5 liters of fresh water respectivelly and as long 40 days period. The average length of fish seed used was 2.18±0.18 cm. During the rearing, the fish fed with tubificid worm in the morning, noon and night. The results showed that the difference of the treatment did not affect the survival and the coefficient of variance, however increasing the stocking density flollowed by lowering the growth rate, and the feed efficiency. Considering economic value, the highest rearing productivity was achieved by stocking density of 6 fish/liter.id
