dc.description.abstractThis internship was conducted at Sungai Bahaur Estate (SBHE), PT Windu Nabatindo Abadi from March to July 2014. Apprenticeship aims to increase the understanding and skill on technical and managerial aspects of oil palm plantation, especially in pruning management. The observation was conducted on the pruning system, number of leaf frond retained, pruning technique, sex ratio of flower and number of fruit bunches. Pruning was applied according to corrective pruning system. The number of leaf frond which is maintained following the pruning techniques which is applied based on the age of the plant. The sex ratio of flowers are used to estimate the potential of plants to bear fruit. Implementation of pruning at SBHE had not run well according to SOP, several constraints were found such as the low discipline harvesters, lack of supervision, and the absence of strict sanctions.id
