Produktivitas dan Seagrass Residence Index (SRI) Padang Lamun Malang Rapat, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau

Abstract

Degradation of seagrass ecosystems will affect the biodiversity, carrying capacity, and fisheries productivity. The purposes of this study was to examine the condition of Malang Rapat seagrass, fish productivity and relationship between seagrass and fish used Seagrass Residence Index (SRI) method. Sampling of seagrass was conducted from 16 to 30 October 2013 using step and go method; fish ware conducted with snapper trap’s as the fishing gear. Species of seagrass found were Enhalus acoroides, Halophila ovalis, and Syringodium isoetifolium. Percentage cover of Malang Rapat seagrass more than 60 % (healthy) and damaged below 25% (low damage). There are eight species of fish found there area, of them three were dominate: red-spot emperor (Lethrinus lentjan), indian snapper (Lutjanus madras), and delagoa threadfin bream (Nemipterus bipunctatus). The indian snapper (Lutjanus madras) is the dominant fish which have the largest SRI with a productivity is 423,03 g.m-2year-1
