Makanan Ikan Totot Johnius belangerii (Cuvier 1830) Di Delta Cimanuk Pabean Ilir Pasekan, Indramayu, Jawa Barat

Abstract

Food could determines the survival, growth, and reproduction of fish. The purpose this study was to know the food type of belanger’s croaker in Delta Cimanuk Pabean Ilir Pasekan, Indramayu, West Java. This study were conducted on Maret-Mei 2014. Total samples analysed were 214 individuals. The stomach content was analyzed using index of preponderance (IP). The result of study showed that belanger’s croaker was carnivora with main food crustacean Acetes sp. as where small fish was more specialist the big fish. The opportunity a intraspesifik competition of croaeker belanger’s in food utilization occured between 92-115 mm and 116-139 mm for female fish, and between 68-91 mm and 92-115 mm and between 92-115 mm and 164-187 mm for male fish. The female fish was more diverse than the male fish in food utilization. Belanger’s croaker actively foraging during the day and actively foraging in water bodies near bottom waters.
