Pengaruh Penggunaan Serat Buah Bintaro (Cerbera manghas) terhadap Sifat Mekanik Beton
Abstract
Sea mango (Cerbera manghas) known as bintaro in Indonesia is not a popular seed fruit in everyday use. Since people don’t see its benefit, so it has no economic value. The objectives of this research are to calcute the compressive strength and flexural strength from the fiber reinforced concrete with different content variation, analyze the effect of using sea mango as a fiber to concrete, and to determine the best proportion to make a fiber reinforced concrete with sea mango fiber. There are several procedures in this research which are fiber-preparation, aggregates analyzing, calculating the proportion of materials, mixing, and sample-testing. There are 4 variation of fiber’s amount in this research which are 0, 25, 50, and 75 gram from sand’s proportion. The best proportion of sea mango fiber to make a fiber reinforced force in this research is 50 gram. The compressive strength values on concrete which consist of 50 gram amount of sea mango fiber on the 28th day is 13,48 MPa. The flexural strength values on concrete which consist of 50 gram amount of sea mango fiber on the 28th day is 10,67 MPa. Based on these values, sea mango fiber decreseas the concrete’s compressive strength but increases the flexural strength.
