Potensi Kecelakaan Kerja Pada Kapal Angkut dan Alat Tangkap Bagan Apung di PPN Palabuhanratu, Jawa Barat

Abstract

The study were aimed to describe the activities of ship carrier and bagan apung (lift net) in Palabuhanratu bay, to identify the potential hazard or risk during operating of the bagan apung in Palabuhanratu, and to identify the fishermen knowledge in working safety and the role of engaged institutions to fishermen safety. Primary and secondary data were collected in this research. Primary data were obtained by interview through questionnaire. Secondary data were obtained through literature study concerning fishermen safety occupational. Descriptive analysis was used to describe the activities of pre operation, operation, and postoperation processes of the bagan apung. Detail description included of the transportation ship unit, the fishing unit and the fishing activity on the bagan apung fishery. Job Safety Analisys (JSA) was used to examine the working method and the potential hazard at every step of the ship carrier and the bagan apung fishery activity. The result showed that, (1) based on Job Safety Analisys the risk arising were categorized into 3 of accident which were not severe (88%), severe (12%) and very severe (0%); (2) The fishermen having knowledge were categorized as good enough regarding occupational safety and procedures work on a ship. However, lack of awareness of the relevant agencies and fishermen in the management and implementation of work safety procedures in PPN Palabuhanratu had not been implemented properly.
