Spectrophotometer can be developed by replacing the main components with electronic components that are easy to find. This study aims to develop visible spectrophotometer (KuantiVis) device using light emitting diode lamp as light source, optical layer of digital versatile disks as grating, and web camera with charge-couple device sensor as detector. KuantiVis was tested for its performance based on linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantitation, and accuracy parameters using a standard of chromium. The optimum result showed that KuantiVis was made with dimensions of 33 × 16 × 5 cm and distance between web camera and source of light was 25 cm. The result showed that linearity of data based on R2 value was 0.9973, limit of detection was 0.1231 ppm, limit of quantitation was 0.4102 ppm, and recovery was 103.19%. The performance was not much different from the performance of Spectronic 20D+ and Genesys spectrophotometer. The KuantiVis was applied for determining borax concentration in wet noodles sample. Concentration of borax in sample was 28.60 μg/gram samples. The result of F test and t test showed that the data was not significantly different with that of Spectronic 20D+ and Genesys spectrophotometer.en
