      Abstract
      Bioplastic made of tapioca starch plasticized using sorbitol and limonene is potential as environmentally friendly packaging. The bioplastic composite was prepared in 9 composition of bioplastic. Bioplastic was made by using 2 heating temperature at 40 °C dan 70-79 °C. Some of characteristic of bioplastic was analyzed for their, specific gravity, tensile strength, elongation, thermal properties, morphological, and water vapor permeability. Bioplastic composition with the ratio of agar:sorbitol:limonene (7.5:10:2.5) showed the highest values of density, tensile strength, and elongation properties. However, this composition has low resistance to water vapor. The results of thermal analysis showed decrease of the melting point due to the addition of sorbitol. Thermal analysis showed that there is only a single peak of the sample at the peak of the melting point. The results is in line with scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis that showed a good homogeneity of the prepared samples.
