dc.description.abstractChlorophyll is the primary photosynthesis pigment of plants. The level of chlorophyll content of plant can be affected by external factors, such as light, temperature, and carbon dioxide. Karst is a unique topography that formed by water flow on carbonate rocks. One of the plant that can be found in the karst ecosystem was Prunus avium. Prunus avium is a major species of karst ecosystem. The purpose of this research was to determine the level of chlorophyll and leaf area index (LAI) in Prunus avium at the different influence of altitude and environmental factors. The level of chlorophyll was measured by SPAD Chlorophyll meter in each altitude on the same characteristic of Prunus tree. The results showed that the chlorophyll was inversely with altitude, LAI and environmental factors. The highest level of chlorophyll that found at 175 mdpl of altitude was 34.32 and the lowest 355 mdpl of altitude was 25.18. LAI showed the highest values 3.32 at 355 mdpl. Based on the statistical analysis, the environmental factors that affected the level of chlorophyll are light intensity, temperature, humidity and wind speed (p<0.05).en
