Kajian keberhasilan studi mahasiswa program doktor manajemen bisnis sekolah pascarsarjana IPB

Abstract

Persentase kelulusan mahasiswa pada Program Doktor Manajemen Bisnis IPB masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, pihak Program Doktor Manajemen Bisnis IPB pelu mengevaluasi guna mencari karakteristik serta faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi keberhasilan studi mahasiswa. Metode analisis korespondensi berganda dapat menggambarkan karakteristik keberhasilan studi mahasiswa. Faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi keberhasilan studi mahasiswa dapat dianalisis dengan analisis regresi logistik biner sedangkan untuk melihat faktor yang paling dominan menggunakan analisis dominan. Hasil dari analisis menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik mahasiswa yang lulus cenderung merupakan mahasiswa perempuan, berusia antara 35 sampai dengan 45 tahun, sudah menikah, memiliki IPK S1 lebih dari sama dengan 3.00, memiliki IPK S2 lebih dari sama dengan 3.50, lulusan S1 dan S2 yang berasal dari IPB, ITB dan UGM, universitas luar negeri, mahasiswa yang berasal dari program studi S2 ekonomi, manajemen, teknik dan MIPA serta mahasiswa dengan status penerimaan S3 non percobaan sedangkan karakteristik mahasiswa yang tidak lulus sebaliknya. Peubah usia, tempat bekerja, perguruan tinggi S1 dan perguruan tinggi S2 berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan studi mahasiswa pada taraf nyata 10%. Faktor yang paling dominan adalah peubah tempat bekerja. Faktor lain yang tidak ada dalam model yang dapat mempengaruhi keberhasilan studi mahasiswa yaitu pada proses pembuatan disertasi, komunikasi antara mahasiswa dengan komisi pembimbing, serta motivasi dan komitmen mahasiswa.

The percentage of graduate student at Business Management Doctoral Program rate is still low. Therefore, the Doctoral Program in Business Management have to evaluate to find the characteristics and factors that may affect the student achievement. Multiple correspondence analysis can describe the characteristics of student achievement. Factors that may affect student achievement can be analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis, while to see the most dominant factor use dominance analysis. The results of the analysis show the characteristics of the students who pass are female students, aged between 35 to 45 years old, married, grade point average (GPA) of S1 greater or equal to 3.00, GPA of S2 greater or equal to 3.50, graduates S1 and S2 from IPB, ITB and UGM, foreign university, students S2 with courses economics, management, engineering and MIPA, and non-probation student. However, the characteristics of students who do not pass S3 is vice versa. Variables of age, work place, college S1 and S2, affect the student achievement on the level 10%. The most dominant factor is work place. Other factors outside the model that can affect student achievement are the process of dissertation, communication between students and lecturers, student motivation and commitment.
