dc.description.abstract | Slaughterhouse is an industry which facilitates the community to meet the needs of animal protein (meat), but also produces waste. Slaughterhouse wastewater organic waste classified as potentially contaminants. Therefore be treated in environmental friendly as well as affordable wastewater treatment. Cyperus haspan L. can be used for waste water treatment system with Artificial Wetlands. The aim of this research is to test the potential of aquatic plants to reduce levels of pollutants in wastewater slaughterhouse. The main research done with treatment the water using replicates plant biomass. The analysis was done by measuring the water quality parameters of BOD, COD, TSS, nitrate, and orthophosphate three times as well as the parameters of temperature, pH, and DO every day within 20 days. Data analysis were using a completely randomized design over time (RAL in time). The results showed that, Cyperus haspan L. from Slaughterhouse waste can reduce pollutants by 71 % BOD and 94 % TSS for 10 days of observation at the beginning. Daily specific growth of each treatment was 0,1014 (g/day); 0,0568 (g/day); and 0,0449 (g/day). | en |
