| dc.description.abstract | The activated carbon (AC) is very popular used in sewage treatment, due to its high ability of adsorption. Waste water treatment in this research involves sea grass waste AC and aquatic plants, Pistia stratiotes. This research aims to asses the ability of active carbon made from solid waste which combined with Water Lettuce (P. stratiotes) in the processing of textiles industry wastewater. The results of the study showed the combination of AC and P. stratiotes is more efficient to reduce organic and inorganic contaminants than each single treatment. Active carbon and P. stratiotes combination is capable of reducing the TSS, total chrome, COD, and color concentration in a row of 90.90%, 83.91%, 25.73%, and 31.24%. All wastewater parameters measured already meet the quality standard at the end of the observation, except COD. The existence of nutrient used by P. stratiotes was marked by an increase in dissolved oxygen and plants biomass. | en |
