The objectives of this research were to evaluate performance and to estimate general combining ability, specific combining ability and heterosis in F1 genotypes of sorghum were crossed in a line × tester mating design. The experiment was conducted at Leuwikopo Experimental Farm, Bogor Agricultural University, Dramaga, Bogor from January to April 2014. The experiment was conducted in a Completly Randominzed Design, in three replications. The result of analysis of variance showed high significant difference for all variables used. Based on GCA effects the line P/I 150-20-A and tester Kawali was a good combiner for plant height character. Line P/I 150-21-A and tester Numbu was a good combiner for weight of grains character. The hybrid combinations of P/I 150-20-A × Kawali was recorded as the best specific combiner for height character and B-69 × Numbu was recorded as the best specific combiner for weight of grains character. Among the hybrids, P/I 150-20-A × Kawali was recorded minimum plaint height with 5.30, -11.86 % heterosis over the mid parent and better parent and B-69 × Numbu was recorded maximum weight of grains with 72.02, 33.46 % heterosis over the mid parent and better parent.en
