dc.description.abstractThis study empirically examines the state of inflation and the factors that affect the long-term money demand in ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam) during January 2008 to March 2013. This study was performed using a panel cointegration. The results showed that a decline in the rate of inflation (disinflation) in the country from January 2009 to September 2009. In addition, the results also indicate that the demand for money is significantly influenced by the domestic interest rate (proxied by the deposit rate) and output (proxied by manufacturing production index).en
