Faktor-Faktor yang Memengaruhi Produksi Hortikultura di Indonesia
Abstract
Horticulture is one of the agricultural subsectors which contributes the Indonesian GDP because of its role as source of livelihood for rural communities. The largest production quantities of horticultural commodities which spread throughtout the whole provinces in Indonesia are bananas, papayas, oranges, pineapples, tomatoes, peppers and potatoes. In addition, Indonesian climate supports its fruit and vagetable crops with unique characteristics and certain position to domestic and foreign consumers. However, every province in Indonesia has distinct characteristic that differs the crops production in each region. The purpose of this research is to analyze the Indonesian horticulture production and the affecting factors by using panel data method in 2003-2012 period. The result shows that West Java is a production center of bananas, tomatoes, peppers and potatoes. While the North Sumatera province as main producer for oranges, Lampung province is a production center of pineapples and East Java is a production center of papayas. Whereas, horticulture production is mostly affected by some factors, which are producer prices (HP), wage (UPAH), fertilizer (PUPUK) and labor (TK).
