dc.description.abstractFor 13 years running the regional autonomy policy has not been able to reduce income inequality among districts/cities in West Java Province. This inequality has an impact on inequality in employment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the convergence process of employment in West Java during 2008-2012. Based on economic growth and unemployment rate mapping result, there is a movement of each region position in 2008 and 2012. This study resulted in an average index of inequality of employment is 0,61 from 2008 to 2012. These results do not correspond with panel data analysis where the coefficients of lagged dependent coefficient value is 0.6720 which is less than one means there is a process of convergence employment with 39.74 percent of the speed of convergence. The results also show that all variables are estimated positive effect to employment level except wagesen
