Marine Protected Area (MPA) is an approach that is commonly applied to a program of coastal and marine resource management, especially in developing countries that have a coral reef ecosystem. The study aims to assess the chances of sustainability management and development of marine protected area and formulate management strategies. The study was conducted in February 2013 to May 2013 in the village of Waha, Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The program is top-down management with initiated by government by involving community as a part of subject in managing the resources. The research method is descriptive and exploratory, while the analysis of the sustainability status using multidimension scaling (MDS) with Rapid Appraisal techniques for Fisheries (RAPFISH). Analysis of the results showed that the level of sustainability in the ecological aspects, social economic, policy and institutional respectively 64,62; 64,23; 54,02; and 59,47. This value suggests that the sustainability of the management of MPAs including in the category of sustainable enough.
