| dc.description.abstract | Phyllanthus sp. (meniran) and Amomum cardamomum (local cardamom) are widely used as herbal medicinal plant in Indonesia. Exploration of genetic information of these plants is needed for developing prime seeds for herbal medicinal plant. The objective of this research was selecting some RAPD random primers to generate amplicons that can show DNA bands pattern of some meniran and local cardamom samples. Optimization of RAPD-PCR was performed on samples of meniran indicating the absence of DNA amplified using universal primers OPE-19 and OPH-5, while for the optimized sample cardamom (cardamom red) showed the amplified DNA. RAPD primer used about 20 of OPA-OPD series 11-15. Results showed that 15 primers were successful in amplifying the local cardamom DNA detected by agarose gel 1.5%. | en |
