dc.description.abstractThis internship program was conducted at Sei Air Hitam Estate (SAH), PT Perdana Inti Sawit Perkasa I, Rokan Hulu, Riau from February 2013 until June 2013. Apprenticeship aims to increase knowledge, skills and employability training directly in the field and to study the aspects of canopy management. Observations were made include pruning system, canopy techniques, the number of surviving stem, number of male flowers, female flowers, and bunches of fruit per plant. The method of data analysis used in the form statistical quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis of the fan according to the descriptive analysis of the characteristics of the data obtained, will then be compared with the literature and standards in force in the company. Generaly, pruning or management canopy at SAH have been performed well enough, but there were still found a deviation from the standard provisions of the company as well as the number of palm midrib.en
