dc.description.abstractIndian mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) is one of the economically important fish landed in TPI Blanakan. The purpose of this research is to know surplus production model that best fits the characteristics of fisheries indian mackerel through the application of five models that Schaefer, Fox, Walter Hibron, Schnute, and Clarke Yoshimoto Pooley (CYP). Research was conducted from July to August 2013. Schaefer Model is the model most appropriate surplus production to basic management of fisheries for indian mackerel in TPI Blanakan, although the value of the coefficient of determination (R2) of only 36%. Based on the results of bioeconomic analysis that the actual condition of the ndian mackerel resource in Blanakan has experienced overfishing. Maximum catches sustainable and economically optimum level of effort is 49.808 kg/year and 493 trip/year. Management plan that can be done is to set up an attempt arrest and quota setting catches.en
