dc.description.abstractOutboard engine is used by the majority of fishermen in Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary to do research about performance of outboard engine. This research is conducted in PPI Pasauran Serang Banten. The objectives of this research to identify part of outboard engine, calculate with theorist method the best speed for outboard vessel in PPI Pasauran, and to calculate with theorist average amount of fuel that needed by outboard fishing vessel per trip in PPI Pasauran. Data analysis is being done with comparative-numeric between marine outboard engine and long shaft outboard engine. Outboard engine are consist of motor, shaft of propeller, propeller, and carburetor. Best theorist speed that used by PPI Pasauran Fishermen to operate marine engine outboard are 4,59-4,72 knot and to operate long shaft outboard engine are 4,04-4,27 knot. Theorist amount of fuel that needed by marine engine outboard fishing vessel are 40-60 liter per trip and theorist amount of fuel that needed by long shaft outboard fishing vessel are 6-12 liter per trip.en
