Pengembangan perikanan tangkap di Pangkalan Pendaratan Ikan ( (PPI) Paotere, Makassar

Abstract

This research was conducted in fish landing bases (PPI) Paotere Makassar. The aim of this research was to identity the prime product of capture fisheries in order to develop capture fisheries production in Paotere, South Sulawesi and to inform the fishermen about the fishing units that feasible to be developed. Survey method was applied in this research, while purposive sampling method were used to collect data. Prime product in PPI Paotere were identity by scoring method. The result showed that prime product from fresh water commodities was milkfish (Chanos chanos) , while from sea water commodities was Indian scad or mackerel scad (Decapterus rusellii). Bio-technic-socio-economic-approach was applied to analysis the feasibility of capture fishery development in PPI Paotere. Based on study, it can be known that purse seine was the most feasible fishery to be developed, followed gillnet, line fishing and trap.
