dc.description.abstractSmall industries have a very strategic role, and able to act as a buffer of National Economy. The number of small industries in Pematangsiantar city is increasing and able to absorb more labor. One of the small industry centers in Pematangsiantar City is Ulos traditional woven cloth existing in Sukamaju Village. This study aims to: (1) determine the characteristics of small industry worker households of Ulos traditional woven cloth viewed from the allocations of work time, income, and expenditure, (2) analyze factors that influence the allocations of work time, income and expenditure of small industry worker households, and (3) determine the impact of external and internal factors on household economic decisions. The Household Economic Model of Small Industry Workers of Ulos Traditional Woven Cloth is built as a system of simultaneous equations and estimated using Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS) method. The increase in wages outside industries and the increase in per unit selling price of Ulos increases the total household income and expenditure, so that the workers household welfare is better. The increase of number of school children decreases the total household income and expenditures, so that the workers household welfare is becoming worseen
