dc.description.abstractFluctuation on land conversion in Tangerang Regency is occurred annualy. Average lan conversion in Tangerang Regency was 0,706 percent per year. In this study, land construction area, numbers of industrial area, and rice field productivity were factors causing agricultural land conversion on the regional level. Factors affected agricultural land conversions on the farm level were residential period, farming experience, seed prices, and its selling prices. As a result, land conversion impacted on the average total farmers‟ income changes before and after the conversion which was decreased Rp 1.100.833. the average income before the land conversion was Rp 3.649.167 while after conversion was Rp 2.548.333. in addition, agricultural land conversion also caused a decrease on rice production. The average loss of rice production was equal to 3561,41 tonnes per hectare per year, while the average loss of production value was Rp 15.313.335.440 per year (grain form) and Rp 24.928.685.600 per year (rice form). Based on food security simulatio, Tangerang Regency would not meet its rice demand by 2014 with 1.169 tons of rice shortage. Moreover, if decline on the rice demand 1,5 percent per year, Tangerang Regency would not meet its rice demand in 2018 with 7.454 tons of rice shortage.en
