dc.description.abstractThe apprentice was conducted at Division 3 of Sungai Bahaur Estate (SBHE), PT Windu Nabatindo Abadi, Kotawaringin Timur, in Central Borneo Province from February untill June 2013. The assignment composed as field worker for one month, as accompanied foreman for one month and as accompanied of division’s assistant for two months. This apprentice was aimed to extend the knowledge and skill about technical and managerial aspects of oil palm plantation especially in canopy management. The specific observation was conducted on canopy management technique, sum of standed midrib, male and female infloresence and fruit bunch. Management canopy system was applied by corective pruning. The pruning system still was not done as well as standard operasional procedure, that caused by improper work of harvester and less uniformity of planting year in one block. Generally, pruning or canopy management at SBHE have been performed well enough, however there were need some improvement for overcoming less worker number, variation of working area and incentives system.en
