Kajian Efektivitas Penerapan Sistem Manajemen Lingkungan ISO 14001 di PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang

Abstract

PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (PT Pusri Palembang) is a petrochemical industry that produces urea fertilizer as the main products with four plants with a capacity of 2.09 million tons/year. PT Pusri Palembang is determined to improvised the conservation of the environment by adopting an Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementation of ISO 14001 EMS of PT Pusri Palembang. This study was conducted through document review, field observation and questionnaire. Significant Environmental Aspects (SEA) which have been set including urea solution shelter, waste tank (MPAL) and the use of water have been fully effective in terms of compliance with the ISO 14001 EMS standard, the availability of procedures and records, compliance of facility and technology used and the achievement of environment performance accordance with the goals and objectives. Aspect of use energy (natural gas and electricity) are not fully effective because the program can not be made to meet goals and objectives yet.
