Seaweed Kappaphycus alvarezii species Maumere and Tembalang was dominant developed in bay Gerupuk and got a good market response. Seaweed Tembalang and Maumere are the species of Kappaphycus geographically different origins. Both type of seaweed that is the producer of carrageenan. Maumere and seaweed production Tembalang cultivated by longline method is still fluctuating and unstable. Performance of Growth and carragenan seaweed influenced by the availability of nutrients in the water which represented the value of conductivity or electrical conductivity (EC) as well as the lighting and internal factors related to the conductivity of chlorophyll and sea grass. high to low EC of sea water associated with nutrients and affect the process of osmoregulation seaweed. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the performance of seaweed type Tembalang and Maumere in longline system of cultivation by its relationship with EC of sea water. This study was conducted from July to September 2012 in the waters of Gulf Gerupuk, Lombok Tengah regency, Nusa Tenggara Barat Province. Seaweed cultivation was done by longline system using the ris rope 50 m of length each with 2 ropes for Maumere and Tembalang seaweed. Each ris contains 250 seeds clump of seaweed and the distance of each clump was 20 cm. The parameters were analysed consist of daily growth rate (DGR) of seaweed and wet harvesting weights, electrical conductivity (EC) of seaweed and sea water, water quality and quality of carrageenan. The results showed that EC of seawater were significantly different (P ≤ 0.05) with EC of seaweed Maumere (72.41 ± 0.22) and EC of seaweed Tembalang (69.80 ± 0.70). The rate of growth and harvest seaweed Maumere weights were significantly different (P ≤ 0.05) with Tembalang seaweed, which has Maumere seaweed growth rate of 4.36 ± 0.06 % and harvest weight of 743.33 ± 20.82 g. Chlorophyll Tembalang seaweed seaweed significantly different from Maumere the average number of 5.71 ± 0.06 mg/g talus. EC of sea water is positively correlated with performance of seaweed, except viscosity and sulfate are negatively correlated (r = -0997 and r = -0789) in Maumere seaweed and sulfate remain positively correlated (r = 0.193) in the seaweed Tembalang.
