dc.description.abstractRegional inequalities can be occured because of differences in resources and the economic activity generated by each region. Manufacturing industry is important sector that can encourage growth and development of other sectors. The purposes of this research is to analyze the development of regional imbalances, spatial concentration and agglomeration factor of manufacturing industry in the western region of Indonesia. This research uses the analysis tool Williamson Index, Geography Information System (GIS), Hoover Balassa Index and panel data. Results of the study indicate that there is a relatively medium regional imbalances in the distribution income and there are regions have point of consentration spatial of manufacturing industries. Variables that constantly affect the agglomeration of manufacturing industry is Competition Industry Index, size of company, foreign investment, road, value added and number of large and medium manufacturing industries. Map of the distribution of the location of the manufacturing industry which is more evenly distributed can increase the income and welfare of society.en
