Engine lube oil waste can be recycled into lube base oil by removing the impurities. One way to eliminate the impurities is by adsorption method. The adsorbent studied were bentonite, zeolite, and silica and it was shown that bentonite was the potential adsorbent for the recovery process, with 25% recovery percentage. The lube base oil recovered was categorized as group 3 base oil base on the American Petroleum Institute classification. The adsorption method with bentonite could reduce the metal impurities up to 80%, so that the base oil can be reused after addition of some additives.en
