dc.description.abstract | The process of making capsule package produces waste in form of mud which has to be disposed periodically. The mud contains such elements as Ca, N and P that are useful for plants. This study was aimed to utilize the mud as a mixture of compost media for caisin plant (Brassica rapa L). The research used a completely randomized design with Advanced Duncan Test at a level of a = 5%. The waste (L) doses used were 0 g, 250 g, 500 g and 750 g, and the compost (L) doses were 0 g, 250 g, and 500 g. The addition of compost in this research could improve the physical properties of soil, making it not too tough to be able to bind water and nutrients. The research result showed that the mud had a significant effect on vegetative growth such as the height of plants, the width of leaves, and the number of leaves. Treatments K3L2 (K 500 g + L 250 g), K2L4 (K 250 g + L 750 g), and K2L3 (K 250 g + L 500 g) indicated very good results, while treatment K1L1 (without the addition of compost and waste) showed unsatisfactory results, with each treatment having a value of 22.65 cm, 7.86 cm and 7.67 leaves. | en |
