Management of Water Quality for Water Tourism Development of Small Lake Sawangan-Bojongsari at Depok

Abstract
Development of situ into water tourism area is an effort to conserve situ from development activities damage, so that situ can generate ecological, economic, and aesthetic benefits. Situ Sawangan-Bojongsari is one of small lakes in Depok that is being developed into water tourism area. Accordingly, this research aimed to study the management, water quality, visitor perceptions, and the level of residents knowledge of small lake environmental material and water tourism development in Situ Sawangan-Bojongsari, and also make recommendation of water quality management strategies for water tourism development in Situ Sawangan-Bojongsari. The management of Situ Sawangan- Bojongsari must be improved by requiring cooperation and better coordinating between the stakeholders involved in: Center Government, Local Government, Working Group of Situ Sawangan-Bojongsari, Forum of Situ Working Groups in Depok, private sector, and NGOs. Water condition of this small lake tends to be good enough for the water tourism development, but some measurements of some parameters exceed or not conform with the water quality standard. The water quality of small lake can decrease more quickly because of anthropogenic activities. Perceptions of visitors to the condition of Situ Sawangan-Bojongsari and its tourism are good enough, but small lake management and water tourism facilities improvement should be performed. The levels of residents knowledge of the small lake environmental material and water tourism development are respectively quite good, but still need to be improved into good comprehension and attitudes. Based on hierarchy analysis, the community empowerment is an alternative to the highest priority, followed by socialization, and recommendation of area management.
