There are many studies on turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.) and wild ginger (Curcuma xanthorrizha Roxb.) from Indonesia is only about the content of secondary metabolites, but research on the genetic diversity information of turmeric and wild ginger plants has never been done before. This study was aimed to analyze the fingerprint pattern of Indonesian native turmeric and wild ginger plants by using OPA-OPD 6-10 primer series to obtain a phylogenetic tree of these plants. The steps of this research were DNA isolation, amplification of DNA, then analysis and construction of phylogenetic trees using the UPGMA (unweighted pair group method arithmetic mean) with NTSYS software. The resulted DNA showed good bands and had a size between 11000-12000 bp with the range of purity between 1091-2625. DNA amplification with 20 random OPA-OPD 6-10 primers produced 259 bands (100% polymorphic). Analysis of genetic similarity indicated a genetic similarity coefficient 0.3033-0.6721 for turmeric plant and 0.1939-0.9082 for wild ginger plant. This value indicated that the turmeric and wild ginger plants from Indonesia has a high level of genetic diversity.en
