dc.description.abstract | This research was conducted to determine the optimum immersion time of recombinant giant grouper hormone (rElGH) at a dose of 15 mg/L that generates highest growth of white shrimp post-larvae at PL-2 phase. This research consisted of five treatments and threeplicates. The treatments were immersion time for 1, 2 and 3 hours. A total of 1,500 PL-2 shrimp were bath immersed in a plastic packing containing 1-L sea water, 15 mg/L rElGH and 0.01% bovine serumalbumin (BSA). Two kinds of control was performed, namely it was without any treatment (control), and immersed in water containing 0.01% BSA and total protein of Escherichia coli without rElGH (pCold control). PL were further maintained for 18 days in the aquarium, fed nauplii Artemia and flake commercial diet, 7 times feeding; 5 times by flake and 2 times by nauplii Artemia, at satiation. The results showed that the highest of the average biomass (36,289.87±1459,56 mg), specific growth (29,81±0,87 g%), and body length (20.08±0,42 mm) were obtained in 3 hours immersion treatment (p<0.05). Biomass of PL in 3 hours immersion treatment was approximately 66.0% higher compared to the control (21,872.19±2529,40 mg). Survival of shrimp in all treatment and control were similar (p>0.05). Thus, the bath immersion time of post-larvae for 3 hours in water containing 15 mg/L rElGH could be used to increase growth, and the application of this technology can be useful to increase aquaculture production. | en |
dc.description.abstract | Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan lama waktu perendaman hormon pertumbuhan rekombinan ikan kerapu kertang (rElGH) dosis 15 mg/L yang menghasilkan pertumbuhan tertinggi pada post-larva udang vaname fase PL-2. Penelitian ini menggunakan 5 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah lama perendaman 1 jam, 2 jam, dan 3 jam. Sebanyak 1500 ekor PL-2 direndam dalam kantong plastik kemasan berisi air laut mengandung rElGH dan serum albumin sapi (BSA) 0,01%. Dua jenis kontrol dibuat, yakni udang vaname PL-2 tidak diberi perlakuan (kontrol), dan direndam dalam air mengandung BSA 0,01% dan protein Escherichia coli tanpa rElGH (kontrol pCold). Selanjutnya, udang dipelihara selama 18 hari di dalam akuarium, dan diberi pakan naupli Artemia dan pakan komersial flake hingga kenyang sebanyak 7 kali; 5 kali pakan flake dan 2 kali pakan Artemia per hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata biomassa (36.289,87±1459,56 mg), pertumbuhan spesifik (29,81±0,87 g%), dan panjang tubuh (20,08±0,42 mm) tertinggi (p<0,05) diperoleh pada perlakuan perendaman selama 3 jam. Biomassa udang perlakuan perendaman selama 3 jam lebih tinggi sekitar 66,0% dibandingkan dengan kontrol (21.872,20±2529,40 mg). Kelangsungan hidup udang perlakuan hidup udang yang direndam dengan rGH tidak berbeda nyata (p>0,05) dengan kontrol dan kontrol pCold. Dengan demikian, perendaman post-larva udang vaname selama 3 jam dalam air mengandung rElGH 15 mg/L dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan, dan aplikasi teknologi ini dapat berguna untuk meningkatkan produksi budidaya udang vaname. | |
